Finish & Foil

Foiling - A premium metallic foil finish applied to selected areas of your design, creating a striking, reflective detail against the smooth matte background.

Matte-Laminated Base - A smooth, non-shiny matte laminate provides a sophisticated, non-glare background that contrasts beautifully with the metallic foil.

The Foil Business Card Process

Premium 400gsm Card Stock - Your design is printed onto thick, high-quality 400gsm card stock.

Matt Lamination - The printed cards are finished with a smooth matte laminate, providing a durable, non-shiny surface and creating the refined background for the foil elements.

Metallic Foil Application - Selected areas of your design are finished with reflective metallic foil, such as gold, creating a premium, high-contrast effect against the matte surface.

Precision Trimming - The finished sheets are precisely trimmed to your chosen standard or custom business card size.

ARTWORK

Option 1: Upload Your Own Artwork

Upload your own print-ready artwork when placing your order. We recommend supplying editable .AI or .PSD files. If uploading raster artwork, we recommend supplying it at 500% scale for the best print results.

For Foil Business Cards, please also provide a separate foil trace file showing exactly which areas of your design you would like to have gold foil. This can be uploaded separately in the designated upload box, or included as an additional page within a multi-page PDF.

Your foil trace is simply a version of your artwork that clearly shows the areas you want to be finished with gold foil. For example, if you want your logo and certain text to be gold foil, the trace file should clearly identify those areas.

If you don't provide a foil trace file, our team will select the foil areas based on your artwork. We will not proceed with production until your artwork has been checked and approved. If we identify any issues with your artwork or foil setup, we'll contact you before your order goes into production.

For the best results, we strongly recommend supplying layered artwork. This allows us to clearly separate the elements that should be printed from those that should receive the gold foil. For example, text or logos that you want foiled should be kept on a separate layer rather than merged into the background.

Supplying layered artwork and a separate foil trace gives us much greater control over the finished result and helps ensure your design is produced as intended.

Option 2: Let Our Design Team Create Your Artwork

If you don't have a finished design or need help preparing your artwork, our in-house design team can create your Gold Foil Business Card design based on your ideas, instructions or existing branding.

Simply select the design service option, provide your ideas or instructions, and upload any relevant logos, images, examples or files to help us understand your requirements.

Our team will work with you to create your design and determine the appropriate areas for gold foil. We offer unlimited design revisions in relation to your brief and will provide a digital proof for your approval before production.
