Where a job allows it, we default to FSC-certified card, kraft paper and recycled-content stock — and we'll tell you plainly when a material (like foil mylar) isn't household-recyclable, rather than call it "eco" when it isn't.

Collective figures are the published, platform-wide totals for the Shopify Planet carbon-neutral shipping program, current as of 2026 — they reflect every merchant on the program, not Cloud N9ne in isolation. Our own ~1,000-order figure is specific to us.
Why we're explaining it this way: A lot of sites present shared, platform-wide sustainability stats as if they were their own achievement. Under the UK's Green Claims Code, environmental claims have to be accurate and not misleading about scope — so we lead with our own real number, then show the network total underneath it, clearly labelled as collective.
Where the money actually goes
For every order, a formula estimates shipping emissions based on weight, method and distance. A matching share of revenue funds real carbon removal — split across five vetted companies using genuinely different methods.

Heirloom
Heirloom speeds up a process minerals already do naturally — absorbing CO₂ from the air — using heat rather than energy-intensive fans to pull air through machinery. Once captured, the CO₂ is stored permanently, and the mineral is reused to capture more.
Remora
Remora fits capture units to semi-truck exhausts, catching CO₂ directly from tailpipes as the trucks drive their normal routes, for long-term storage or use.
Charm
Charm converts crop waste into a stable, carbon-rich liquid ("bio-oil") and injects it deep underground — out of reach of the wildfires and soil disturbance that can re-release carbon from other storage methods.
Mast Reforestation
North America's leading post-wildfire reforestation company. Mast replants burned forest land and, more recently, buries burnt biomass to lock in carbon that would otherwise be released as the dead wood decays or reburns.
Grassroots Carbon
Works with ranchers on regenerative grazing practices that rebuild soil health and lock additional carbon into grassland soil — turning working ranch land into a long-term carbon sink.

Sustainable packaging — frequently asked questions
For every order, an estimate of the shipping emissions is calculated based on weight, distance and transport method. A portion of revenue equal to that estimate goes to verified carbon removal projects, so the emissions from getting your order to you are balanced out by carbon permanently removed elsewhere.
Standard metallised mylar (BOPET foil laminate) pouches aren't accepted in UK household recycling because they combine multiple material layers. We'd rather tell you that upfront: if recyclability matters most for your product, our kraft paper bags or FSC card boxes are the better fit — or ask us about mono-material/recycled-content mylar options.
